Obama Health Care Plan Worsens the Crisis

I want to talk about cosmetic medicine, honest I do. But every time I try to focus I see Obama changing stripes. No longer the common man, he has become beaurocratic man! He sold out to every pedagogic interest group that he and Nancy Pelosi can revel in. Believe me, I grew up in an environment of pseudosophisiticates who claimed to know what is best for the common man, all the time convinced they were not common. Pogo said it best: “We have met the enemy and he is us”.
Let’s take health care. An AP story March 12, 6:57 am Report: US on short end of health care ‘value gap’. Report: High medical costs, subpar results drag US down in global economy. We spend up to twice as much on health care as any other industrialized country and get the poorest outcomes. Obama says the governance of the system is and will remain the private health insurers. We can save 20% off insurance premiums with no loss of coverage with a basic universal health care system independent of the private insurers. Obama talks out of both sides of his face. He is for a universal policy but he supports the private insurers because, well, they have support. He said he will not deny those of us who currently enjoy our current health care insurance. Enjoy! Show me anyone besides federal employees who are so happy with their health care insurance. He proposed universal electronic medical records to create jobs!! How will that help access to health care? He supports paramedical personnel replacing front line physicians. We already have the poorest health outcomes in the industrialized world and he is comfortable making that worse by having paramedical personnel with an average of 2 years training render our care. Have fun being treated by Dr. Nurse Nurse. This reminds me of the book Catch 22 where we met a major in the army whose given name was Major Major and now he became Major Major Major. Come to think of it this whole proposal is Catch 22.
The now defamed Jim Cramer called Obama a Leninist. Patient after patient of mine call him a communist. This is different from the epithets calling him a socialist because socialist is used as a derogatory term. Communist, however, is a system of financial distribution and disincentives for productivity, Oh, and let’s not forget Obama says he will partly balance the health care budget by cutting reimbursement to physicians, a group that comprises less than 3% of the entire national health care bill, a group that has suffered more than a 15% decline in income since 1990 relative to inflation.
Let’s see: we’ll get more computers, keep insurance premiums high, reduce the number of front line physicians, and decrease their pay. I am not even going to talk about the misuse of hospital facilities by the uninsured and Medicaid that create 8-12 hour waits common in the nation’s emergency rooms.
Obama/ Bush: little difference when it comes to leadership in our health care crisis. Come to think of it- the stock market doesn’t see the difference either.
